Ubuntu applications – gmail notifier and ubuntu tweak

I just came across these two applications for ubuntu today. couldn’t resist myself to post them here. 🙂

1. CheckMail – Gmail Notifier

Its a handy appliation which pops up each time new mail appear in gmail. You can configure the interval of refresh.

Installation :

sudo apt-get install checkgmail

Its a nice application. You can tweak most part of ubuntu using this tool.

The there are lot of features in this app that makes configuring ubuntu very easy. The main features are

– You can add or remove programs

– You can edit software sources list from here

– Manage startup processes.

– run nautilius scripts


Add deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/tualatrix/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main to your software sources list and run this command.
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-tweak
