Gwibber 2.0 is released!

Wow, Gwibber 2.0 is out. Unlike the previous versions, this version is very good. It sports a tweetdeck like interface, with a nice navigation bar for searching messages, replies, DMs etc. It supports twitter, facebook, friendfeed, digg… Though ping.fm is missed out in this version, no idea why.

The other noticeable improvements include Retweet support and tomboy notes integration for tweets. Nice!

One thing i hate about the new version is the update editor is at the button. Initally when you install it is very difficult to find it. Its at the button and you need to drag to see the update editor.

Installation:

The default multi universe repo on ubuntu is not updated yet with the gwibber 2.0.

1. Add following to sources list. Do sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/gwibber-daily/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/gwibber-daily/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main

2. Run sudo apt-get update

3. Run sudo apt-get install Gwibber

Gorgeous Nokia N900

Wow, where did nokia get this gorgeous looking N900 outta no where ? watched the video i must say the device definitely rocks. Desktop like experience right inside your pocket, what can anybody expect!

The best part about N900 is it runs linux. Nokia calls it Maemo, the Linux-based OS used by its existing MID devices. Thank god nokia finally understood the importance of linux and ditch aging Symbian OS.
